In March 2017, Elections Canada was in Saskatoon and Thunder Bay to learn more about the needs of Indigenous electors.
In 2014, to better inform youth aged 18–24 on where, when and how to vote in the 2015 federal general election, Elections Canada hosted a series of civic engagement workshops across the country. The workshops were held in 10 cities from April to October 2014 and made use of "training the trainers" techniques. Representatives from youth-serving organizations and youth leaders learned more about the latest research on voting and civic engagement and were given tools and information to mobilize young voters and prepare them to exercise their right to vote.
