Dear Member:

It's tax season! We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that you can be added to the National Register of Electors or update your address simply by checking "Yes" to the two questions related to Elections Canada on your tax form.

This quick and simple step ensures that you receive your voter information card, which tells you where, when and the ways to vote in a federal election.

Did you know that Canadian citizens aged between 14 and 17 can check "Yes" on their tax form to be added to the Register of Future Electors? When they turn 18, they will be added to the National Register of Electors and will be ready to vote at the earliest opportunity. Voting is habit forming: young people who start voting early are more likely to become lifelong voters!

Yours sincerely,

Not 18 years old yet? If you are a Canadian citizen between the ages of 14 and 17, you can check "Yes" on your tax form to be added to the Register of Future Electors. When you turn 18, you will be added to the National Register of Electors, making you all set to vote in the event of a federal election. Voting is habit forming: if you vote as soon as you're officially an adult, there's a good chance you'll be a lifelong voter!
