Checklist for Accessible Voting
Checklist for Accessible Voting
This is my plan for voting:
I plan to vote in person on election day.
I plan to vote in person at my advance poll (early voting).
I plan to vote before election day by mail. (Apply early to get your voting kit.)
ID for voting in person:
I'm bringing my government-issued ID with my photo, name and address (e.g. driver's licence).
I'm bringing two different types of ID with my name and address. (Visit elections.ca for the list of accepted ID.)
I don't have ID and need to bring someone along to vouch for me.
What do I need to make my voting experience successful?
When I go behind the voting screen (if voting in person), I want to have:
A large-grip pencil
A magnifier
Support from Elections Canada staff
My own support person
The list of candidates in large print
A tactile and braille voting template (only on election day)
I will call at least one week before election day to ask for (
1-800-463-6868
or 1-800-361-8935 [TTY]):
An application for a vote-by-mail kit
Sign language interpretation at the polls
Other accessibility services at my polling place
Is there anything else that I need?
If you need help or have questions, let an election worker know.
